Coronavirus Cases in India: The recovery rate is 97.39 per cent.
New Delhi: India recorded more than 40,000 fresh COVID-19 cases, while its active caseload fell below 4,00,000 today, according to Union health ministry data.
India recorded 43,654 new coronavirus infections that pushed its tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,14,84,605 while the number of deaths climbed to 4,22,022 with 640 deaths in the last 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.
The active cases have declined to 3,99,436 and comprise 1.27 per cent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 97.39 per cent, it stated.
The daily positivity rate has increased to 2.51 per cent. The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.36 per cent, the ministry data stated.

The COVID-19 tally in the archipelago remained at 7,535.
The union territory now has 12 active COVID-19 cases of which 11 are in the South Andaman district and one in the North and Middle Andaman district. The Nicobar district is now COVID-19 free as it has no active case, he said.
Two more persons recuperated from COVID-19 during the period, taking the total number of recoveries to 7,389, he said.
The COVID-19 death toll in the archipelago remained at 129 as no fresh death due to the contagion was reported in the last 24 hours.
